Vanst Law Adds Amanda Abbott as a Partner to Lead the Healthcare and Life Sciences Practice Group
San Diego, CA — Vanst Law, LLP has added Amanda S. Abbott as an additional partner since opening its virtual doors in Sept. 2018. Abbott joints Vanst with more than two decades of experience in the healthcare and life sciences industries.
Since 2011, Abbott has served as Corporate Counsel for Rady Children’s Hospital and Health Center, focusing on healthcare and life sciences business transactions and regulatory compliance advising for the Rady Children’s entities, including Rady Children’s Health Network, Rady Children’s Specialists, Rady Children’s Physician Management Services, and Rady Children’s Hospital Foundation. In addition, Abbott was a key leader in the start up of Rady Children’s Institute for Genomic Medicine and its Clinical Genome Center. She will begin at Vanst on May 1, 2019.
Before her tenure at Rady Children’s, Abbott was a healthcare attorney with the litigation, transactional, and regulatory groups at Hooper, Lundy & Bookman, PC, and a NICU nurse at the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center. Abbott is an alumnus of the University of California, Davis, and the University of Pennsylvania.
Abbott believes bringing her unique background to Vanst will allow her to provide exceptional legal and consulting services to healthcare and life sciences clients in the continually-expanding San Diego biotech market.
Cynthia Morgan-Reed, a San Diego land use attorney, launched Vanst to provide a firm where attorneys work in a culture that empowers them to do what they do best: practice exceptional law.
“We are thrilled to add Amanda to the Vanst team as head of our new Healthcare and Life Sciences Practice Group,” said Morgan-Reed. “Her legal reputation, experience as an in-house counsel, and comprehensive perspective of her practice areas is a perfect match to the Vanst culture, and will serve our clients in the best possible way.”
Vanst currently has attorneys in San Diego and Orange County practicing in the areas of business and corporate, land use, lobbying, real estate, litigation, and tax law. This modern law firm is seeking highly qualified California attorneys and paralegals in the following areas: business and corporate, intellectual property, litigation and dispute resolution, trust and estates, land use, and real estate. Vanst plans to expand its offerings and its transformative approach to law practice throughout California and across the United States.
